YUNO and anti-decubitus

A new look at an old problem.

Traditional anti-decubitus mattresses are made entirely of memory foam. This removes a large part of the pressure points.

However, there is still room for improvement. If we look at the pictures below, we can see how the traditional anti-decubitus mattress creates an important pressure point at the height of the buttocks. Not coincidentally, one of the main places where bedsores first appear. This is because a memory foam mattress does not take gravity into account. The hips sink in much deeper than the shoulders. At hip level, there is mainly bone, while the lungs make the body much less heavy at shoulder level. As a result, a large part of the body weight is concentrated in one place, with all the consequences that this entails.

Wrong: slanted and crooked

Correct: straight and horizontal

It is therefore much better to first make sure at the bottom of the mattress that the body is not only lying straight, but also horizontally.
